How we test

At AIMSTRONG, “Tested” is no empty phrase: burn-in, a 48-hour endurance test and a reproducible measurement methodology based on RFC 2544 and RFC 9411 for all platforms.

Reproducible instead of glossy

Data sheet figures are only as good as the method behind them. We measure according to the RFC 2544 and RFC 9411 standards, with documented test setups and an identical baseline configuration per platform. This makes results comparable and traceable.

We will publish specific measurement results only once the test series have been fully approved.

What we test

Burn-in & endurance test
  • Every device goes through burn-in and a 48-hour endurance test before it leaves our premises.
Stateful Firewall
  • Throughput and connection tests under realistic firewall operation with active rule sets.
IDS/IPS
  • Measurements with intrusion detection and prevention enabled.
VPN
  • IPsec, OpenVPN and WireGuard under load, just like in everyday site operation.
HA failover
  • Failure tests in a high-availability cluster: switchover times and connection persistence.
Latency & connection setup
  • Latency, connection rates and HTTP transactions as reproducible measurement series.

We are happy to explain the setup and procedures in detail.
